JAKARTA – Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League's best manager this year. He was also elected manager of the League Managers Association (LMA) version.

The German tactician got the full vote of the manager's membership in all divisions as the LMA's best coach. He also has the right to bring home the Sir Alex Ferguson trophy.

Klopp also won the Premier League manager of the year this year despite his side missing out on the title by a point from Manchester City until the last weekend's game on Sunday, 22 May.

Klopp's Liverpool have won the FA Cup and League Cup this season. In addition, they also reached the final of the European Champions League and will meet Real Madrid on 29 May.

"This [Award] is a big honor and it was a crazy season. It wasn't the best result for us, but we've been through it," said the 54-year-old coach, reported by BBC Sport.

"When you get an award like this you are a genius or you have the best coaching staff in the world and I am here with all my coaching staff, they know how much I appreciate them."

In the short list of the best coaches in the Premier League version, Klopp has beaten a number of names. These include Pep Guardiola, Thomas Frank (Brentford), Eddie Howe (Newcastle United), and Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace).

These two best manager titles repeat Klopp's achievements when he led Liverpool to win the Premier League in the 2019/2020 season.
