JAKARTA - The Southeast Sulawesi Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) said a married couple who were arrested on Friday, October 29 at Haluoleo Airport who flew from Pekanbaru-Kendari City were carrying 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

"The total evidence of 1 kilogram of shabu-shabu brought by the two pairs," said Head of the Southeast Sulawesi BNNP Eradication Division Kombes Pol Joni Triharto quoting Antara, Saturday, October 30.

The couple with the initials KK (27) male and IN (24) female residents of Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi, were arrested at Haluoleo Kendari Airport on Friday, October 29 afternoon, at around 15.30 WITA. This couple flew from Pekanbaru to Kendari City using Batik Air airline.

The couple smuggled five packages of shabu-shabu which were stored in a sensitive area. After being arrested, the two were taken to the Southeast Sulawesi BNNP Office by the Eradication Team.

"Evidence is packed in underwear. The woman keeps it in the stomach stage, while the man keeps it in the back of the underwear," he said.

The couple has been under surveillance since last week. This is not the first time they have smuggled packets of meth between provinces.
