Alert! Kaspersky Discovers Squid Game Malware And Scams, Promises 100 Binance Coins

JAKARTA - Cyber security company Kaspersky has discovered dozens of scams and malware using the name Squid Game online in the past month.

Cybercriminals do not want to miss taking advantage of the popularity of this South Korean series to spread threats. Kaspersky, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 30, discovered the spread of adware, trojans and scams using the name Squid Game.

In one of the modes they found, the victim was given an animated version of the game. Simultaneously, the criminals launch a trojan to steal data from the user's browser and send it back to the attacker's server.

On the victim's device, there is a shortcut or shortcut in a folder, which can be used to launch the Trojan. This malware is distributed through unofficial app stores.

The crooks claim to be the official shop for Squid Games merchandise. If shopping there, the victim risks losing money and personal data such as email addresses, residential addresses and banking card details.

Apart from malware and fake shops, Kaspersky also found an online version of the "Squid Game" play page with the promise of a 100 Binance coin prize.

If playing the game, instead of getting a reward, the victim will unknowingly download malware and lose their data.

In order not to be trapped by this fake "Squid Game", internet users are advised to only access the series from the official website and always check that the downloaded file does not have an .exe or .msi extension.
