Two Clashing Organizations In South Jakarta Agree To Make Peace

JAKARTA - Pasar Minggu Police Chief Commissioner Bambang Handoko confirmed that there was a clash between two groups of community organizations (ormas) in front of the LAN Complex minimarket, West Pejaten, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.

"It started when a group of suspected members of one of the mass organizations crossed Jalan Siaga Raya," said Commissioner Bambang Handoko to reporters, Saturday, October 30.

According to Commissioner Bambang, the commotion was triggered by the throwing of bottles and stones by one of the mass organizations into the yard of the mini market. There, there were members of other mass organizations.

Throwing bottles and stones was met with resistance.

"Neighbors came out and the attackers fled," he said.

However, the police rushed to the location after receiving information about the clash. According to Bambang, a parking attendant was the victim of the clash.

Even so, Bambang said, the group suspected of being the mass organization that attacked first was known not to have come from the Pasar Minggu area.

The clashes did not last long. Even the Pasar Minggu Police have mediated the representatives of the two warring mass organizations to make peace in order to maintain conduciveness.
