JAKARTA - A Javan eagle (Nisaetus bartelsi) about two years old has been released into the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area, after being rehabilitated at Flora Fauna Bunder Station, Yogyakarta. The release of the Javanese eagle was carried out in the Ngadas Hamlet, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency. The Javan eagle has met a number of criteria to be released into the wild. Then, the animals have been able to fly around the cages, in the rehabilitation center, and the animals have always avoided the presence of humans.

Wiratno explained that the female Javanese eagle was named Mirah. The Javanese eagle was handed over by a resident of Sleman, Yogyakarta. Mirah has also undergone rehabilitation at Flora Fauna Bunder Station for approximately 1.5 years. According to her, Mirah has a characteristic body length from tip of beak to tail of 35 centimeters, and has a wingspan of up to 105 centimeters. The Javanese eagle has a pale brown color. Wiratno added that the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area does not only have natural beauty. However, it also has various types of fauna that live in the area. In Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, there are approximately 200 species of birds. "So it's not only about the beauty of the landscape, but also the biodiversity of fauna, including birds," he said. Java that has been detected.
