JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) has transferred the findings of the historic object of the milling stone type. Most surprising, the historical witness object was under the sidewalk of Jalan TB Simatupang, Gedong, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.

During the transfer process, officers deployed one crane car and one rescue car. The transfer was carried out slowly by nine Gulkarmat officers.

"It is said that in the past, this object was used for sugar cane milling," said Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Thursday, October 28.

He said this transfer was at the request of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Center of the DKI Jakarta Culture Service. After being successfully removed from the pavement, the stone weighing 360 kilograms was then transferred to the Betawi Condet Cultural Conservation.

"Half of it is buried in the ground. There are residents who know from community leaders that it is a cultural heritage stone," said Gatot.

The grinding stone, which is located in RW 01, Gedong Village, is a historical object from the 17th century. This sugar cane grinding stone is one of the historical relics of Tandjoeng Oost which is thought to date from the 17th century.
