Duri Kepa Village Debt Of Rp264.5 Million Residents Not Returned, Deputy Governor Of DKI Asks For Family Resolution

JAKARTA - Duri Kepa Village, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta was reported to the police on suspicion of fraud. This report is due to a loan from a resident who has not yet been returned.

In response to this, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, hopes that the debt problem that resulted in the police report can be resolved amicably without taking legal action.

"It was resolved amicably, yes, problems like that were resolved," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, October 28.

Riza asked all parties to understand that the current pandemic makes economic conditions difficult. However, he guarantees that the DKI Provincial Government will resolve the debt problem.

"Now the conditions are difficult, however, we hope that it can be resolved amicably. We will find a solution later," he said.

For information, a resident of Cibodas Subdistrict, Tangerang City, with the initials SK, admitted that he felt he was a victim of fraud or embezzlement of money by Duri Kepa Village.

Initially, the Duri Kepa Village Treasurer borrowed money from the SK for the needs of the kelurahan agency, such as paying the honorarium for the RT/RW and other debts on behalf of the Duri Kepa Village.

In the agreement, every refund paid by Duri Kepa Village will be added a fee of 10 percent of the nominal money deposited.

In May and June 2021, SK sent money to Kelurahan Duri Kepa twice for a total of Rp264.5 million. The Duri Kepa Village has promised to return the money as soon as possible.

However, so far this debt has not been repaid. Until finally, on October 25, 2021, SK reported Lurah Duri Kepa on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement of money (Article 378 and/or 372 of the Criminal Code).
