JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria explained the source of the information he got regarding the Transjakarta driver who was named a suspect. However, the police have not announced this yet.

Riza learned that the driver who died in a Transjakarta accident was a suspect from the DKI Transportation Agency. This is based on the coordination between the DKI Dishub and the Polda Metro Jaya.

"It is necessary to know the results of the coordination between the Transportation Agency and the Regional Police some time ago. After we asked for information from the Transportation Agency yesterday, there was indeed a potential suspect from the driver himself," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 27.

Although the statement on the determination of the suspect was submitted by Riza, Tuesday, October 26 yesterday, he now admits that he is waiting for official information from the Polda Metro Jaya. Because, it is the authority of the police to investigate the accident case.

"We got information from the Transportation Agency. The Transportation Agency is coordinating with the Regional Police. However, to be clearer, more certain, we are waiting for the announcement from the Regional Police. So, the Regional Police's authority is," he said.

Previously, Riza said that the Transjakarta bus driver who died in the accident of two buses on Monday, October 25 had been named a suspect. As a result of the accident 33 people became victims. In which, two of them died and 31 people suffered minor and serious injuries.

"The issue of TransJakarta is quite concerned about the 2 people who died, the injured have been treated, and coincidentally the driver is a suspect, yes," said Riza.

However, the Police denied the statement by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta regarding the determination of the suspect against the driver with the initials J in the case of the TransJakarta accident. So far, the police are still in the process of gathering evidence and clues.

"There is no (determined suspect) yet," said Head of Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono.

Argo did not rule out the possibility of naming the driver with the initials J as a suspect in the accident of two TransJakarta buses. However, so far there has been no solid evidence to establish a suspect.

"Yes, it is a suspicion, but there is no strong evidence yet, maybe it could be potential if there is negligence. We have not concluded yet," said Argo.

So far, said Argo, there are still many factors that lead to certain assumptions. For example, the fatigue factor from the driver to the work mechanism system of TransJakarta.

Therefore, the main cause of the accident has not been determined. The examination of witnesses is still ongoing.
