SOLO - The Surakarta Police has raised the status of the investigation to the stage of investigating the case of the death of the Sebelas Maret University (UNS) student, Gilang Endy Saputra (23).

"The status was raised to an investigation after we examined 18 witnesses from the incident," said Surakarta Police Chief Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak in Solo, Antara, Tuesday, October 26.

Those who were asked for this information, said the Police Chief, consisted of lecturers, participants, and trainers in the UNS Menwa Education and Training Center which was held from Saturday, October 23 to Sunday, October 24.

His party has sent a warrant for the start of an investigation (SPDP) to the public prosecutor (JPU) for a series of investigations and investigations. However, they have not yet identified a suspect in the case.

"We are still collecting evidence related to the alleged violence that resulted in the victim's death. The victim's parents reported it to the Surakarta Police on Monday at around 10.00 WIB," said the Police Chief.

The investigation team continues to carry out a series of investigations that have the support of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Central Java Police. In addition, his party also coordinated with the Chancellor of UNS Prof. Jamal Wiwoho and the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Ahmad Yunus.

"We have received support from UNS related to law enforcement in a professional, transparent and accountable manner," he said.

Previously, the Satrekrim Polresta Surakarta investigated the case of the death of a UNS student after attending the Menwa Education and Training Center at Jurug Jebres Solo, Sunday.
