BANDUNG - Bandung Police have arrested a group of perpetrators of breaking into automated teller machines (ATMs) at the Army Education and Training Command Complex (Kodiklat AD), Jalan Sumbawa, Bandung City, West Java.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Sumur Bandung Police, AKP Teddy Sigit, said that three perpetrators were arrested in this burglary. Respectively IP (32), K (30) and RA (29). They carried out the burglary using a file, screwdriver, and sticks (sticks for taking selfies).

"So IP was caught in the act, while the remaining two people (K and RA) were only caught early Tuesday morning at around 04.00-05.00 WIB in an apartment in Jakarta," said Teddy in Bandung, Antara, Tuesday, October 26.

Teddy said the perpetrators carried out the action on Friday, October 22, in the morning. The ATM location is near the AD Kodiklat Mosque.

While in action, according to Teddy, they were monitored by members of the TNI who were guarding the area. The TNI members on guard were suspicious of the gang's movements.

After they finished carrying out their action, they were then arrested by the TNI officers who were on guard. They were interrogated by TNI officers in the area.

"After that he (IP) was handed over to the Sumur Bandung Police, and the perpetrator was questioned to investigate the other two perpetrators who were still being pursued at that time," said Teddy.

From this action, the police secured a number of tools such as files, screwdrivers, sticks, tweezers, and some Rp 2.5 million in cash.

Meanwhile, Kapen Kodiklat TNI AD Lieutenant Colonel Effendi confirmed the burglary took place in the TNI AD area. At that time, he said, the Provos officer secured the perpetrators suspected of having attempted to break into an ATM machine.

"I haven't got more details, but it's true what happened, Friday," said Effendi.

"So it was us who secured it, then the Provos reported to Bank BRI, and Bank BRI reported to the police," he added.
