JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is targeting the Sunter, North Jakarta intermediate treatment facility (ITF) to be built starting in early 2022.

Therefore, Anies ordered the DKI Environment Agency to seek funding for the construction of an intermediate waste processing facility (FPSA) in the northern area of Jakarta amounting to Rp4.02.

Therefore, the Head of the DKI Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that the DKI Provincial Government would borrow funding from the BUMN PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero).

"For the Sunter ITF, we are trying to find regular loan funding to PT SMI. Hopefully, in January 2022 we can obtain loan funding from PT SMI. So, the construction of the Sunter ITF can continue in 2022," Asep told reporters, Tuesday, October 26.

Asep said that loans to PT SMI were regular. In the construction of the Sunter ITF, the DKI Provincial Government did not use the national economic recovery loan (PEN) which is currently running. He hopes the loan will be granted.

"God willing, we are trying to build the Sunter ITF, and the funding will come from the PT SMI loan," he said.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is planning the construction of four ITFs. It is targeted that the ITF has started construction in mid-2022 or before the term of office of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, ends.

The ITF development, said Asep, was included in one of the programs that Anies had instructed to do immediately. The ITF is included in Ingub Number 49 of 2021 concerning the Settlement of Regional Priority Issues for 2021-2022.

"Indeed, the ITF is part of the promise, Mr. Governor. At the very least, there must be progress. In the future, we can accelerate it even more. The target is to start construction by the middle of next year," said Asep. in North Jakarta, then ITF in West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta.

The Sunter ITF and the western region are managed by the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro). Meanwhile, the ITF for the eastern and southern regions is carried out by Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya.

Currently, explained Asep, the progress of the Sunter ITF being carried out by Jakpro has begun to enter pre-construction. In the ITF development plan in the western region, Jakpro has collaborated with the PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA)-PT Indoplas Karya Energi (Indoplas) consortium for the construction process.

Meanwhile, the ITF in the eastern and southern regions being worked on by Sarana Jaya is still in the process of selecting the tender winner as a construction partner.
