Muhamin Iskandar Wants Young People To Have Aspirations To Become DPR Members: If Elected, Satisfied!

JAKARTA - What are your goals? Want to follow the advice of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhaimin Iskandar? He asked young people to aspire to become Council Members.

According to the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Coordinator for People's Welfare (Korkesra), the large number of Indonesians who come from young groups should be the capital to advance the country.

"So many DPR members are criticized because all kinds of people gather here. That's only natural. Some say it's crazy because the chances of becoming a DPR member are very slim. But if they are elected, they are satisfied," said Gus Muhaimin during a TikTok live with influencer Benjamin Adhisurya or known as Iben by TikTokers from Nusantara III Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, October 25.

The chairman of the PKB said that the dreams of young people are not just to become doctors, pilots, or other conventional professions. Today's youth have more innovative aspirations, so according to him, the profession of DPR members can be used as a reference.

"Don't hesitate, don't be afraid to make your dreams come true, because being a member of the DPR is a toll road," he continued, quoted from the DPR's official website.

The purpose of 'Toll Road' is that young people can bring changes to the nation for the better. Because, said Cak Imin, young people can fight for the interests of the community a lot if they become members of the council. "Just be sure if you want to be a member of the DPR. It's like Iben already has capital, because he has a lot of followers. Because the requirement to be a member of the DPR is to be popular, known and elected," said Gus Muhaimin.

Iben also asked if there were any special requirements from educational background to become a member of the DPR. According to Gus Muhaimin, regardless of their educational background as long as at least a bachelor's degree, young people can run for members of the DPR.

"While still young, don't regret not doing much good, not much benefit for others, for the people, and for society. The ministers should all be young people. If young people are energetic, hurry up," he said.

"Members of the DPR, if possible, replace all the young ones so that their spirits are high, work 24 hours and are ready. We are optimistic because young people have great energy, the strength to work longer hours," continued Gus Muhaimin.
