Two Teenage Groups Who Fight In Sawah Besar Turns Out To Be Looking For Money From Social Media, IDR 4 Million Once Live

JAKARTA - Based on the results of the investigation by the Sawah Besar Police, two groups of teenagers involved in a brawl on Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta, Mangga Dua Selatan Village, Central Jakarta, had different motives.

The two groups of teenagers deliberately held brawls between gangs just to get money from the results of their live Instagram actions.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Setyo Koes Heriyanto confirmed that there was a new mode of youth brawling in the Sawah Besar area.

"This brawl is to seek income, we found this after the results of the examination of the suspects. The perpetrators were 9 people, all of them were students," said AKBP Setyo to VOI, Monday, October 25.

The brawl was deliberately carried out using social media and made live Instagram.

"The goal is to get viewers and he can contribute. This is a new phenomenon," he said.

As a result of this incident, one victim was injured. The victim's initials MAS (16) is an active student from Mangga Besar 13, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

"This brawl can be said to be engineered because it makes a profit, but the fact is that it did happen (there were victims). It's as if this incident was just playing around," he said.

Setyo regretted the occurrence of a brawl with this new mode. Because according to him, every brawl must result in the victim's death as happened in Menteng a few days ago.

"It's as if life has no value," he said.

This brawl between groups of teenagers begins with challenges through social media.

"This is a phenomenon that always occurs in the Central Jakarta area. Fights are through challenges on social media. From gangs, groups, through enjoy 420, challenging accounts to opposing groups and meeting on Jalan Jayakarta for brawls," said AKBP Setyo.

While the Sawah Besar Police Chief AKP Maulana Mukarom added, this was the 3rd time this incident was carried out by the group and had benefited from the large number of viewers.

"They have their own accounts, both live (each group). This has happened for the third time. They have earned more than Rp. 4 million in profit once live. We are still investigating this case," said AKP Maulana.
