JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia provides discounts for long-distance train trips of up to 25 percent. This train ticket fare discount was given during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the recovery of its economic impact.
KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus said this discount is valid during the Eid al-Adha holiday season, from July 30 to August 2.
"This discount aims to improve service to customers. Through the promo, KAI is confident that public interest in train services will increase," said Joni in his statement, Tuesday, July 28.
The trips that provide discounts are the Bima train (Gambir-Malang) with a previous fare of IDR 650 thousand to IDR 500 thousand, Kertajaya (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi) with an initial tariff of IDR 250 thousand to IDR 200 thousand.
Then the Sembrani train (Gambir-Surabaya Pasarturi) with the previous tariff of IDR 600 thousand to IDR 450 thousand, Turangga (Gambir-Surabaya Gubeng) with the previous tariff of IDR 630 thousand to IDR 500 thousand.
Then, the Argo Lawu train (Gambir-Solo Balapan) with the previous tariff of Rp. 650 thousand to Rp. 500 thousand, and Argo Dwipangga (Gambir-Solo Balapan) from the previous tariff of Rp. 40 thousand to Rp. 360 thousand.
"Tickets that get promos are limited. Tickets can be ordered on the KAI Access application, Web kai.id, and all other official KAI ticket sales partners," said Joni.
When traveling using long-distance trains, there are protocols that must be met by passengers, namely having a COVID-19 free certificate, wearing a mask, having a temperature not exceeding 37.3 degrees, and being in good health.
"Long-distance train customers are also required to wear a face shield while traveling until they leave the destination station area. For adult customers, KAI will provide a face shield. Meanwhile, customers who bring children under 3 years of age are advised to bring a personal face shield," Joni explained.
KAI provides a rapid test service for Rp. 85,000 at 12 stations, with a rapid test service hour at the station is 07.00-19.00 WIB. Customers whose train departures are below 07.00 WIB and want to take advantage of the rapid test service to do it at least 1 day before the scheduled departure.
