Bareskrim Investigates Other Parties Related To Djoko Tjandra After Brigadier General Prasetyo Becomes A Suspect

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri is continuing its investigation into the case of making the road documents used in the escape of fugitive Djoko Tjandra. Bareskrim investigates allegations of involvement of other parties related to Djoko Tjandra's pass.

"The team is currently still working to deepen the possibility of the emergence of new suspects related to the JSC fugitive travel process (Djoko Tjandra), starting from the entry of activities carried out during the process of managing PK and until the person concerned returns to Indonesia," Chief of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday, July 27.

Kabareskrim also emphasized that the investigation of this case was to investigate whether there were any trade-offs related to the drafting of the Djoko Tjandra road letter. It is possible that this investigation will involve the KPK in tracing the alleged flow of funds in return.

In this case, the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit named Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo as a suspect in the case of making a passport used by fugitive Djoko Tjandra. Brigadier General Prasetyo was charged with multiple articles.

Brigjen Prasetyo is subject to Article 263 paragraph 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 426 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and / or Article 221 paragraph 1-2 of the Criminal Code. Article 263 of the Criminal Code regulates the making of fake letters.

The letter issued by Brigadier General Prasetyo numbered: SJ / 82 / VI / 2020 / Rokorwas, on June 18, 2020, said that Djoko Tjandra left for Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Djoko Tjandra departed from Jakarta on June 19 and returned on June 22.

Regarding this case, Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo was removed from the post of Head of the Coordination and Supervision Bureau of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency.
