Central Java Prepares To Use Electric Buses For Public Transportation, As A Start For Abang Ojol First

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo encourages industries to conduct research and development of electric cars. Currently being discussed is the use of electric buses for public transportation in Central Java.

This was conveyed by Ganjar, while reviewing the factory and handover of electric vehicles made by Viar, Central Java, at the BSB Industrial Estate, Mijen, Friday, October 22. Ganjar said he had discussed this with various related parties.

"What we want to push is a car. Including at our Transportation Service it is a bus. We have explored with several electric bus providers. So we hope that the city buses may all be Trans Central Java can also be replaced with electricity, "he said quoted from the PR of the Central Java Provincial Government.

During the event, Ganjar released thousands of electric motorbikes made by Viar in Central Java which were used for Grab drivers. Ganjar appreciates the step of transforming fossil fuels into electricity which is more environmentally friendly.

"This is part of the spirit of how to transform fossil-fueled motors into electricity," said the governor.

On the other hand, Ganjar who was also accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also reminded that preparations for this transformation were carried out thoroughly. Especially related to battery waste management.

“Well, we hope that how to recycle safely, which does not create B3 waste and so on, has already been thought through, and now the system is being developed. Later there will be a kind of place for research and development related to the battery," he said.

It is said, these efforts must be fully supported. In addition to bringing many benefits, it also reduces air pollution resulting from fossil fuel vehicles.

“It's part of raising the green revolution flag in our transportation system, and it's part of what I think is extraordinary. I will fully support this," he said.
