Al-Istiqamah Mosque In West Aceh Burned? Police Ask Residents Not To Speculate, Witness Is Still Being Examined

ACEH - Investigators of the West Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit continue to investigate the burning of the Al-Istiqamah Mosque in Pasi Jambu Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh Regency, in the early morning at around 02.50 WIB.

"It is tentatively suspected that the cause of the mosque fire accident was an electrical short circuit," said West Aceh Police Chief AKBP Andrianto Argamuda represented by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Parmohonan Harahap in Meulaboh, Antara, Friday, October 22.

Based on the results of a temporary investigation at the site of the fire, the police found traces of electrical wire grafts at the site of the burning mosque.

In addition, said AKP Parmohonan Harahap, the police are still examining a number of witnesses for questioning in the case.

The examination of a number of witnesses was carried out at the West Aceh Police Headquarters, to ascertain the real cause.

AKP Parmohonan Harahap also appealed to the entire community not to speculate on the cause of the Al-Istiqamah Mosque fire in Pasi Jambu Village, Kaway XVI District, West Aceh.

"If the indications are burned, so far we have not found the cause. It is suspected that this mosque caught fire due to a short circuit in the electric current,” he asserted.
