Throughout 2019, KPK Conducted OTT 21 Times And Most Occurred In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced their annual report for 2019. As a result, throughout 2019 or when it was still led by Agus Rahardjo, cs, this anti-graft agency carried out 21 arrests.

"Hand-catching operations (OTT) are not just a showcase. Through careful and measured preparation, this operation has been carried out 21 times in 14 regions. 76 people were ensnared with evidence of crimes in the form of cash from various currencies," the report wrote. 2019 KPK Annual Report as quoted by VOI , Monday, July 27.

From the results of the OTT throughout 2019, there was a certain amount of money as evidence obtained by the KPK. In rupiah denominations, this anti-graft agency managed to collect evidence worth IDR 12.8 billion.

Furthermore, the KPK managed to collect evidence of 35,000 US dollars, 576,000 Singapore dollars, 5 euros, and 407 Malaysian ringgits.

The majority of professions caught in the operation were private, with a total of 34 people. While the rest, there are 17 civil servants (PNS), 5 employees of BUMN or BUMD, 3 others, 2 lawyers, and governors, regents, judges, prosecutors, mayors, and 1 DPR each.

The area with the most silent operations is DKI Jakarta with 6 OTTs. While the rest are Central Java, Lampung, and East Kalimantan twice each.

Then West Kalimantan, Yogyakarta Special Region, Riau Islands, NTT, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, East Java, West Java, and Banten once each.

Most of these catch operations were related to project bribery. Because, during 2019, the KPK has conducted OTT regarding project bribery 8 times. Then the rest is related to job bribes, PBJ bribes, and licensing bribes 3 times each. Finally, this operation was also successful in entangling the parties related to case handling twice.
