Held Vaccination Raids, Officers Instead Find Stolen Motorcycles Abandoned By Perpetrators

BEKASI – Three Pillars of Branchbungin Sub-district, Bekasi Regency, West Java held a vaccination raid. But on the sidelines of these activities, officers accidentally encountered a motorcycle thief. Thanks to foresight and alertness, officers finally managed to secure the stolen motorcycle. But unfortunately the perpetrator managed to escape.

One unit of Honda CBR 150 cc motorcycle has been secured by officers, and managed to return to the hands of its owner. The Head of Branch Bungin Police, AKP Robiin explained that initially a joint team from the Branch Bungin Police, Puskesmas and TNI elements held a vaccination and judicial raid on Jalan Garon, Setia Laksana Village on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

Then, someone riding a motorcycle without a license plate and not wearing a helmet crossed the road.

"The officer asked the man whether he had the vaccine or not," explained Robiin.

According to the man, he had never been vaccinated at all. Then, the officer asked about the completeness of the certificate of the motor vehicle he was driving.

However, the man again quibbled and explained that he didn't have any papers with him. The man then said he would return home to collect his letter and ID.

“The man said he left his wallet at home, so he didn't bring his ID and STNK. Then he wanted to take him home, so the officers had to ask for the keys to his motorbike in the hope that he would come back here to be vaccinated,” he explained at length.

Until the raid and vaccination activities ended, the man never returned. Finally, the black sport motorbike was taken to the Branch Bungin Police Headquarters and stored in the evidence area along with other motorbikes.

"How long has it not been taken. Then we checked the motorcycle," he said.

Some time ago, the Branch Bungin Police took the initiative to check the name of the owner and the owner's domicile by means of identification through the motorcycle frame number by the Registrar unit Samsat.

From there, it was known that the identity of the motorcycle owner turned out to be at Graha Puri Cibitung. Next, the officer visited the address of the owner of the motorbike and asked about the ownership status of the motorbike.

When visited and met, the mother of the motorcycle owner named Tri Wahyuni admitted that her son's motorbike was lost during the flood on February 20, 2021.

"Then we checked the papers and it turned out to be the same as the results from the Registrar's Unit," he said.

Furthermore, Robin said, the police directed the victim's mother to report the incident to make a loss certificate as a condition for taking the motorbike.

Furthermore, on Monday 11 October, the motorbike was handed over after going through the checking process.

"Finally, the motorbike was handed over to Tri Wahyuni, and it could be taken home after the files were returned and a handover letter was made for the motorbike evidence as the validity of the vehicle," he explained.

Meanwhile, Tri was very grateful and did not expect that his son's motorbike, which had been stolen since February 2021, was finally found by the police through a vaccination raid.
