Puan Maharani Also Talks About Rachel Vennya's Case Of Fleeing Quarantine, Asking To Be Punished With The Quarantine Law

JAKARTA - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, has asked the COVID-19 Task Force to strictly enforce quarantine rules. Including retesting people who have just arrived from abroad using the PCR test.

This highlights the news regarding celebs ignoring quarantine rules. It is known, celebrity celebrity Rachel Vennya escaped while undergoing quarantine which had only been running for 3 days at the Athlete's House with the help of TNI personnel.

"Beware of those who try to circumvent the quarantine rules. We hope that the officers will give sanctions to anyone who violates the Quarantine Law," Puan told reporters, Friday, October 15.

"Optimize cooperation with the TNI/Polri so that quarantine rules are not used by irresponsible persons to take advantage. This includes cases of counterfeiting PCR tests, which must be guarded as well as possible," he continued.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture asked for understanding from the Indonesian people and foreign guests with the quarantine rules. According to him, discipline towards the rules of the process will ultimately bring benefits to the person himself.

Puan gave an example of the obedience of athletes to the official PON XX Papua which had a significant influence on the handling of COVID-19. Because, there was no spike or massive spread of the virus in its implementation.

"Although they came with the noble aim of fighting for their region, all the contingents were ordered to undergo quarantine, both before and after arriving at the venue," he said.

Moreover, said Puan, in the latest regulations of the COVID-19 Task Force, namely Circular 20/2021, international travelers only need to undergo quarantine for 5 days if they are declared safe after re-testing the RT-PCR.

"The rules are now getting easier, so the discipline should be getting better," he concluded.
