JAKARTA - The selection for the registration of candidates for members of the General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2022-2027 period begins on October 18, 2021. The registration stage, he said, will take place from October 18 to November 15, 2021. The jury said his party had compiled a schedule of stages until the final stage of the selection. .

"On this occasion, the Selection team invites candidates who meet the requirements and have the concern to immediately register themselves as candidates for KPU members and candidates for Bawaslu members to realize general elections with integrity for the future of a democratic Indonesia," he said.

The selection team will work to produce 14 names of candidates for KPU members and 10 names of candidates for Bawaslu members which will later be submitted to the President for 3 months after the selection team was formed.

"This is in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 paragraph 4 and Article 119 paragraph 4 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning general elections, namely the selection team carries out the stages of selection activities objectively within a maximum period of 3 months after the selection team is formed," he said.

The jury said that apart from working professionally and independently, to add weight to the quality of the selection, the selection team would also take several steps.

First, the issue of openness to ensure access to information to the public. Second, participatory to provide opportunities for the public to provide criticism, input, and findings on the process and profile of candidates.

Then, cooperate by cooperating with competent and credible individuals and institutions under the control of the selection team to help smooth and work effectively, as well as help provide data and information so that the selection team gets a complete profile of candidates.
