Bareskrim Arrest 10 Fugitives In TIP Cases To Umrah Services Fraud

JAKARTA - Within a period of two months, the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police arrested 10 fugitives involved in a number of cases, including the crime of trafficking in persons (TPPO) to fraudulent Umrah pilgrims.

"The team arrested 10 DPOs or fugitives for the period September-October 2021," said Director of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department, Brigadier General Andi Rian Djajadi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

Brigadier General Andi said that there were three fugitives arrested in the TIP case, namely Mahzum Nasser, Hj Tati, and Hj Yunan. The three were arrested at different places and times. The three were on the wanted list (DPO) based on Police Report Number LP/A/0172/III/BRK, dated March 16, 2021.

He explained that the suspect Mahzum Nasser was arrested at Prum Nusa Indah Blok U Bojong Kulur, Gunung Putri, Bogor on September 16, 2021. Hj Tati was arrested at his home on Jalan Kelapa Nias II Blok Pb3, Kelapa Gadung, East Jakarta on September 29, 2021. While Hj Yunan was arrested in Cisaat Village, Karang Village, Cianjur, West Java, on October 8, 2021.

Furthermore, said Brigadier General Andi, the fugitive who was arrested by M Akbaruddin is a suspect in a fraud case for prospective pilgrims with victims reaching 2,705 people.

"The method is that the victims are promised to go for Umrah at an additional cost of Rp. 5 million," he said.

The suspect, M Akabruddin, said Brigadier General Andi, was arrested on October 4, 2021 on the fourth floor of the Dittipidum Bareskrim Police Office.

In addition, there are five suspects in cases of fraud, embezzlement and forgery of letters who were arrested at different times and places, namely Dadang Firdaus, PH Levhinsone, Boy Ridhanto, Surono, and Andianto Setiadi. The arrest of the five suspects based on the police report Number LP/913/IX/2016/BRK, September 6, 2016.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators Dadang and Boy were arrested at the Permata Sari Splatur Complex I Block A, Kenali Asam Bawah, Jambi City on September 28, 2021. Then, Levhinsone and Surono were arrested at the Puri Mayang Cluster Casablanca Complex Block K, Jambi City on September 29, 2021.

"The suspect Andianto was arrested at the BTN Block 3 Complex, Jambi City on September 29, 2021," he said.

The tenth fugitive is the suspect Burhanuddin who was arrested in front of the CIMB Niaga Graha, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Senayan, South Jakarta on October 5, 2021.

"The perpetrator was caught in a case of false information on an authentic deed and fraud," said Brigadier General Andi.
