Ganjar Pranowo Lifts Trophy, Central Java Province Best Gender Equality 4 Times In A Row

SEMARANG - Central Java won the Parahita Ekapraya Award from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection four times in a row after being named the province with the best gender equality in Indonesia.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo congratulated all parties who have worked hard in efforts to achieve gender equality in Central Java.

According to Ganjar, gender mainstreaming has become the main focus of his government.

"Because apart from nature, there is nothing that deserves to be distinguished and gender is not a barrier to success," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

Ganjar emphasized that all those who stood firmly under the Red and White had the same rights, no matter whether it was a man or a woman.

"Be the best human being and live this life with respect. We who are in the Central Java Provincial government believe and carry out these principles carefully in order to provide optimal service," he said.

The 2020 Parahita Ekapraya Award was given directly by the Minister of PPPA I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati to 13 ministries/agencies, 29 provincial governments, and 266 districts/cities.

This award is a form of appreciation from the central government for the commitment and role of local governments in the development of the women's and children's sector, particularly through gender mainstreaming strategies.

Apart from Central Java, the recipient of the Mentor Category award is Rembang. Meanwhile, 12 regencies/cities in Central Java were awarded the Main category, 13 regencies/cities were awarded the Middle category and eight districts/cities were awarded the Primary category.
