Case Handling Of Brimob Members, Brigadier NP Banting Students Now Handled By Banten Police

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the handling of the case of Brigadier NP was withdrawn to the Banten Police. Previously, the viral Brimob member slamming the student was handled by the Tangerang Police.

"On the orders of the Regional Police Chief, the person concerned on behalf of Brigadier NP, the case was taken over by Propam Polda Banten," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Thursday, October 14.

The delegation of this case, said Ramadhan, should be handled more optimally. Moreover, this case has become a concern to be resolved immediately.

"This is a form of the Banten Police Chief's firmness in responding to the behavior of members who carry out their duties that are not in accordance with the SOPs that apply within the Police," said Ramadhan.

Previously, the Banten Police Chief had apologized to Faris. Then, promise to solve the problem.

"The Banten Police Chief has apologized for the mistakes of his members and stated that he would be responsible for this problem and would process the violations of his subordinates," said Ramadhan.

Previously, a video circulated on social media of a student fainting after receiving a slam from the police who were securing a demonstration in front of the Tangerang Regent's Office at the Tangerang Regency Government Puspem.

The demonstration coincided with the 389th Anniversary of Tangerang Regency. In the action, the students expressed their aspirations and demands for the problems in Tangerang.

Then, the masses tried to constantly approach the Tangerang Regent's Office. However, they were blocked by dozens of security personnel from entering the building

This resulted in pushing each other with the police, leading to clashes between students and the police.
