LEBAK - Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin asked the Bedouin community in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten Province to be vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"We hope that all Bedouin residents can succeed in the government's program," he said while reviewing vaccinations at the Bedouin Tourism Village in Lebak Regency, as reported by Antara, Thursday, October 14.

He mentioned the importance of vaccination to reduce the rate of transmission of the virus.

So far, he said, the population of viruses and bacteria cannot be lost, even hundreds of years the polio virus has not disappeared until now.

Thus, he said, vaccination can prevent the spread of the virus from developing.

He said vaccination is not only individual, but socially can protect yourself, family, neighbors, and the people of Indonesia. Therefore, he said, the more people are vaccinated, the less the transmission of the virus.

"The public is certainly obliged to receive vaccinations, so that they can reduce virus mutations. Moreover, currently what is feared in the world is the Delta virus variant," he said.

He also asked the Lebak Regency Government to work even harder to make the vaccination program a success.

He admitted that every week he reports vaccination coverage to President Joko Widodo.

On that occasion, he also appreciated Paguyuban Urang Banten (PUB) and Mapala UI who carried out vaccinations in remote areas in the interior of Lebak Regency because this helped the government in the success of the vaccination program.

Currently, he said, the realization of vaccination has reached 103 million people in Indonesia. However, next about 100 million others are located far away and socially need to be well explained about the benefits of vaccination.

In addition, he said, the distribution of vaccines to island areas continues even though it is difficult to reach.

"We encourage people, such as from Mapala UI and PUB to help vaccinate in remote areas," he said.

His party was also assisted by the vaccination program carried out by members of the TNI and Polri until it was able to penetrate one million people per day. The implementation of vaccination is also assisted by the BKKBN, midwives, and BIN so that the achievement increases to two million people per day.

"We are optimistic that the vaccination target set by President Jokowi can be achieved by December," he said.

A number of Bedouin residents in Cibeo Village, Kanekes Village, Lebak Regency positively welcomed the vaccination held by the government with the support of various groups. "We are happy after being vaccinated and ask that other Bedouin residents can be injected with vaccines for health," said a resident of Inner Badui, Kalsan.
