A Total Of 23 Houses In The Bedouin Settlement In Lebak Banten Caught Fire

JAKARTA - Fires in Bedouin settlements in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten have now become 23 housing units.

"We received a report that the fire was thought to have come from the stove where the Bedouin residents cook," said Head of the Lebak Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Febby Rizky Pratama, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 13.

The fire incident in the Bedouin settlement occurred in Cihuni Village, Inner Badui area, Kanekes Village, Lebak Regency. The Bedouin, whose house was on fire, have now fled to the houses of other survivors.

"We prioritize the Bedouin victims of the fire to have their food needs met," he explained.

According to him, the Lebak BPBD is now distributing basic supplies for fire victims in the Bedouin settlement. The distribution of the aid was in the form of rice, side dishes, and kitchen utensils and mats.

"We hope that the aid can reduce their economic burden," he said.

A Bedouin elder who is also the Head of Kanekes Village, Lebak Regency, Jaro Saija, said that the fire that hit 45 families of residents has now caused confusion to rebuild houses that have been razed to the ground.

"We hope that the local government can provide house stimulant assistance for the Bedouin residents who are burned," he said.
