PKS Has Started Heating Up Its Engine In West Papua For The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The 2024 election is still two years away. But the West Papua PKS DPW have already started heating their engines.

This week, PKS will coordinate the winning of the 2024 election covering 13 districts and cities throughout the province of West Papua.

Said Chairman of the West Papua PKS DPW, Syaiful Maliki Arief, the coordination agenda for winning the election was intended to formulate a projection of victory in 2024.

"The West Papua PKS is overseeing the winning strategy by scheduling the Election Winning Coordination Meeting to be held on Saturday–Sunday, 16–17 October 2021," Syaiful said as quoted from the PKS official website, Wednesday 13 October.

The winning consolidation agenda is very strategic. Even though the election time is still quite long, the West Papua PKS needs to formulate projections and targets for political achievements to win the election in West Papua.

“PKS wants to strengthen its political position in West Papua. So early on, coordination was carried out to formulate the projection of the winner in the 2024 election," he added.

This member of the DPR for West Papua Province explained that the political dynamics in West Papua are quite dynamic, as well as the acceptance of the community component, especially the indigenous community, which proves that PKS' political position in West Papua has begun to be recognized. The need for data and territorial mapping which is the basis for winning the PKS must be carefully monitored.

"All leaders must have data so that territorial mapping can be carried out which is the basis for winning PKS," explained Syaiful.

Therefore, Syaiful believes that the work carried out by all PKS administrators at every level of leadership must be oriented to two main things, namely adding members and increasing party electability.

“PKS must tidy up its work with measurable program targets. Such as the direction in the National Conference, that the target of all management work programs must be oriented towards adding party members and increasing party electability," said Syaiful.

The agenda, which is planned to be attended by all the Chairs and Secretaries of the DPD, the Chair of the Election and Regional Head Election Winning Division, and members of the legislature in West Papua will also include material and assistance in the formulation of the winning program from the fields of BP3 DPP PKS and BPW PKS East Indonesia.

He also said that although the achievements in West Papua still need to be improved, they must be used as encouragement and triggers for winning work.

"Through the BP3 coordination meeting later, we can formulate the next winning program. Of course, the current conditions in West Papua can be an encouragement and a trigger for future winning works," he said.
