Named A Suspect, CEO Jouska Aakar Abyasa Charged With Multiple Articles

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters will conduct an examination of the CEO of PT Jouska Finansial Indonesia Aakar Abyasa Fidzuno regarding the follow-up to the determination of the suspect status in cases of alleged fraud, embezzlement, capital market crimes, and money laundering.

This was revealed based on the Notification on the Progress of Investigation Results numbered B/75/X/RES.1.11/2021.Dittipideksus addressed to the General Chairperson of Teman Ganjar Rinto Wardana, dated 4 October.

The emergence of the letter was based on the results of the case on 7 September, in which Jouska Aakar Abyasa Fidzuno and Tias Nugraha Putra were named as suspects.

The article that is suspected is a capital market crime and/or fraud and/or embezzlement and/or money laundering as referred to in Article 103 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 30 and/or Article 103 paragraph 1 jo. Article 34 and/or Article 104 Jo. Article 90 and/or Article 104 Jo. Article 91 of Law No. 8 of 1995 concerning the Capital Market.

In addition, Article 378 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 372 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 3, Article 4, Article 5 of the Law on the Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering.

"Regarding the investment placement in PT Jouska Finansial Indonesia that occurred in the Jakarta area and/or at least in the Indonesian jurisdiction in 2018 to 2020 which was allegedly carried out by Aakar Abyasa Fidzuno and Tias Nugraha Putra as a result of the trial on September 7, 2021," as written in the SP2HP.

Previously, 41 people reported Jouska on charges of fake news and harming consumers in electronic transactions to the Metro Jaya Police. This case was then brought to the Criminal Investigation Department of Porli.

Aakar was also sued for compensation of Rp64 billion by 45 of his former customers to the Central Jakarta District Court. On the accusations of the complainants, Aakar has denied it.
