Finally Governor Anies Flies To Jayapura To Monitor DKI Athletes

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan left for Jayapura, Papua to visit the capital's athletes competing at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON).

"God willing, this will be a foothold for even better achievements," said Anies Baswedan to DKI athletes via the Instagram account @aniesbaswedan monitored in Jakarta, Monday, October 11.​ Anies arrived in Jayapura, Monday morning and met with a number of athletes and archery officials. and sepak takraw at Sentani Airport, which will return to Jakarta after competing in the XX Papua PON.

On that occasion, the former Minister of Education and Culture thanked the athletes who fought to carry the name of DKI in the XX Papua PON event.

"Bring stories, this experience to be a lesson for all," he said.

To these athletes, Anies admitted to monitoring the progress of DKI athletes even before the opening of the XX Papua PON.

"Since we started before the opening, we have witnessed the enthusiasm of our friends. Thank you on behalf of the citizens of Jakarta," said Anies.

XX PON in Papua will take place from October 2 to October 15, 2021. Meanwhile, the medals of the DKI Jakarta contingent as of October 10, 2021, at 21.13 east Indonesia time, gold medals reached 72, silver (58), and bronze (71) so that the total medals reached 201 medals.

Jakarta's position is currently third after West Java with a total of 223 medals and East Java (193). Previously, DKI Jakarta was at the top of the medals for the XX Papua PON.
