Gibran Targets Cooperation With Jogja To Be Realized By The End Of The Year, The Concept Is About Tourism

SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka targets the cooperation with the Yogyakarta City Government to be realized by the end of this year.

"This is actually a cooperation agreement that has existed for a long time, in the last few years it was interrupted. I want to 'follow up' it again, we can synergize Solo and Jogja," Gibran said in Solo, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 8.

The meeting between Gibran and the Mayor of Yogyakarta Haryadi Suyuti itself took place on Thursday, October 7, at the Yogyakarta City Hall. At the meeting, both of them discussed the cooperation clause that needed to be updated.

"In the fields of tourism, culture, transportation, and the economy. For example, tourism in Solo has SGS (Solo Great Sale), what is going on in Jogja, so that it is in sync, so that hotels in Solo are filled, Jogja is filled," he said.

Moreover, he said, the two areas are facilitated by the presence of KRL and in the near future the Solo-Jogja toll road will be connected. Thus, tourist access will be easier.

"We also discussed how Solo and Jogja can both 'brand' KRL, especially since the traffic is busy. In addition, we also discussed what new innovations could be included in the cooperation agreement," he said.

Gibran admitted that one of the challenges faced by the City of Solo was new attractions.

"Later on, we will open events that used to be considered saturated, monotonous, so we will update it again. Moreover, this (Solo) has the opportunity to go down to level two, so there will be more relaxation. Jogja is still at level three but has boosted tourism," he said. .
