The Wife Of The Mayor Of Surabaya Visits A Student Whose House Collapses In Tambaksari

SURABAYA - The wife of the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi, Rini Indriyani visited a student of SMP Negeri 1 Surabaya, Moch Nouval Harianto (13) on Jalan Tambaksari Selatan, whose house collapsed some time ago.

"Alhamdulillah, the house has been repaired by the Cipta Karya and Social Services through the Rutilahu Program. Because yesterday Mas Nouval had lived at his grandmother's house and now (his house) can be occupied again," Rini said when she was warmly welcomed by the family and local residents quoted by Antara, Friday, October 8th.

Rini Indriyani, who was accompanied by the Principal of SMPN 1 Surabaya, Akhmad Suharto and the school committee, was also seen chatting directly with the family.

Rini also gave direct motivation to Moch Nouval several times not to give up hope and keep going to school.

Rini Indriyani said that her visit also represented as one of the guardians of students at SMPN 1 Surabaya.

In addition to providing moral support, he also handed over assistance in the form of savings and laptops to Moch Nouval which were donations from students.

"So I am here to represent as the guardian of the students of SMPN 1 Surabaya. Some time ago Mas Nouval's family was hit by an accident, his mother died when his house collapsed while protecting Mas Noval," he said.

In addition to donations from SMPN 1 Surabaya students, previously the Surabaya City Government had covered scholarships including Moch Nouval school uniforms. In fact, his house was immediately repaired by the municipal government through the Rutilahu Program after the collapse some time ago.

As one of the guardians of students at SMPN 1 Surabaya, Rini Indriyani assessed that the assistance that came from the students was extraordinary because the assistance was their initiative as a form of concern for others who were struck by disaster.

"This is extraordinary, it can be an example for all schools. SMPN 1 has an extraordinary commitment. So if there are students whose parents die, the children make voluntary contributions to be conveyed to those who are grieving," he said.

Rini hopes that this sense of empathy can continue to be possessed by Surabaya students so that students in schools not only receive formal education, but also have a high sense of concern and empathy for others.

"If they are used to being motivated from childhood, accustomed to doing this, God willing, they will grow up to be extraordinary children, children who care about the environment, children who care about others," he said.

For this reason, Rini, who is also the Chair of the Surabaya City PKK Mobilization Team, also encourages all Surabaya children not to give up no matter what their family conditions are. For him, all Surabaya children have the right to be successful and successful.

"The children of Surabaya, whatever the conditions, must be great and achievers," he said.

Meanwhile, Nouval's father, Musa Harianto (39) expressed his gratitude to the Surabaya City Government. Even though his wife is dead, Musa hopes that his son will continue to be enthusiastic about his education to a higher level.

"Thank you very much to the Surabaya City Government for helping. Thank you also to all the residents here who have also helped my family who was hit by a disaster," he said.
