JAKARTA - The Japanese Consulate General in Medan, Takonai Susumu, came to the Medan Mayor's office to get acquainted with Bobby Nasution. To Bobby, Takonai promised to immediately bring many investors to invest in Medan.

Takonai Susumu has specifically come to meet President Jokowi's son-in-law because he has only been in office for three months. Previously, he had served in Jakarta for a long time.

"I have only started working since June, previously I served in Jakarta," said Takonai, quoted from the Medan City Government's official website, Thursday, October 7.

He said, Medan is not a foreign city for him. Because Japan and the city of Medan have many cooperative relationships, one of which is the cooperation of the twin cities of Ichikawa.

"Many projects are being collaborated between Japan and Medan, besides that many Japanese students are also studying in Medan City," said Takonai.

During the short visit, Takonai Susumu promised to invite many investors to come to Medan City.

Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution hopes and wants the relationship between Japan and Medan City to be better in the future. Moreover, currently Pemko Medan carries the hashtag of collaboration to build the city of Medan.

"In building the city of Medan, we carry the spirit of collaboration, meaning that anyone can play a role in achieving the vision and mission of the city of Medan," said Bobby Nasution.

Bobby Nasution also conveyed that the priority programs to be carried out by the Medan City Government include improving health, especially in overcoming the problem of the COVID-19 pandemic, improving the quality of road infrastructure, overcoming flood problems and also cleaning problems, after that, revamping heritage areas and developing MSMEs towards digitalization.

"In the next few years the Medan City Government will complete some of these priority programs," he concluded.
