SOLO - The City Government (Pemkot) of Solo, Central Java is targeting zero stunting (child stunting) in 2022. The City Government through the PKK Mobilization Team continues to work hard through various programs launched.

Deputy Mayor of Solo, Teguh Prakosa, at the signing of the collective agreement and group discussion on preventing stunting, said that the stunting rate in his city was not too large.

"The stunting condition in Solo is actually only 2.7 percent, it's not too high. But we are trying to keep this figure down," Teguh said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, October 7.

He said that with the efforts made, it is hoped that next year the city will be able to have zero stunting. "There are several areas in northern Solo that still need attention. We hope this effort can inspire pregnant women to want to go to the puskesmas for control, especially since they can use the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS). If they are orderly, no child will be born with malnutrition," he said. .

On the same occasion, the Chairperson of the PKK Mobilization Team, Selvi Ananda, added that the PKK carried out a lot of prevention at the stunting locus to the village level.

"In this case it is not only mothers who have toddlers but stunting has a long-term impact, it must be considered. If it is withdrawn, even from the time of the womb it must be monitored," he said.

The wife of the Mayor of Gibran Rakabuming added that the City PKK Mobilization Team also provides guidance and education to pregnant women regarding the importance of going to the doctor for a pregnancy check.

"During pregnancy, at least four times the control for adding blood. Even young women must also receive guidance. You can't just target a child already born, it's too late," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Surakarta City Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Community Empowerment Service, Sri Wardani Poerbowidjojo, stated that until January 2021 the stunting rate in Solo was still at 2.77 percent of all toddlers in Solo.

Based on the data, he said, of the total 31,453 children under five in Solo, in detail the number of children with very short status was 104 children and short status was 955 children, bringing the total including stunting to 1,059 children in Solo City.

"Actually, this percentage is still below the national level, below the province as well. But we want it to be zero, it doesn't mean that the stunting rate is small and we don't move.
