BANJARMASIN - Polresta Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan has distributed cash assistance with a total of Rp720 million from the central government of President Jokowi to street vendors (PKL) and shop owners.

"There are 600 people with Rp. 1,200,000 each who have received this assistance program," said Banjarmasin Police Chief Kombes Rachmat Hendrawan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, October 6.

The total recipients of the cash assistance facilitated by the Banjarmasin Police were 4,413 people.

The distribution of aid has entered its fourth stage. Polresta divided into 22 stages of distribution with 200 people each.

This is to prevent excessive crowds of people due to distribution while still complying with health protocols to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

Kombes Rachmat said that there were still potential recipients recorded by bhabinkamtibmas that were not in sync and had to be re-verified. For example, related to the Population Identification Number (NIK) and so on.

"We want to make sure this assistance is really on target. For those who feel they are entitled to receive it but are not registered, please report to bhabinkamtibmas for verification," he explained.

The government launched direct cash assistance for street vendors and stalls (BTPKLW) operating in the PPKM level 4 area.

A total of one million aid packages are equivalent to the Micro Business Productive Presidential Assistance (BPUM) program which it is hoped that small businesses affected by COVID-19 can use them for capital or survival.
