MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Government through the Social Service has decided to stop the distribution of social assistance (bansos) related to PPKM (Restrictions on the Movement of Community Activities) phase 2.

The Acting Head of Makassar City Social Service (Dinsos) Rusmayani Madjid in Makassar, said that the decision was taken because Makassar had entered the PPKM level 2 phase.

"We didn't continue because PPKM was already level 2 in Makassar, so the procurement had to go through a tender and it took a long time, so we decided not to continue," said Rusmayani in Makassar, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 5.

By the end of August to September 2021, the Makassar Social Service had distributed 70,488 PPKM social assistance packages out of a planned 100,000 packages prepared. So it is planned that 29,512 packages will be distributed in phase II.

A total of 70,488 packages were distributed in accordance with the results of verification of the PPKM social assistance data on KPM (Beneficiary Families). They are residents affected by PPKM who have not received any assistance from the government, or people who are not included in the Family Hope Program KPM (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) to Cash Social Assistance (BST).

Regarding the plan for distributing 29,512 social assistance packages for phase II, the Makassar Social Service Agency has coordinated with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) to law enforcement officers (APH).

"We don't want to take a wrong step, so we continue to coordinate with various parties, so that the implementation of the distribution of social assistance is in accordance with existing regulations," said Rusmayani.

From the results of the BPKP meeting and study, Rusmayani said the Makassar City Government was given a choice, namely if you want to continue the distribution of social assistance, then you must hold a tender or use a third party in the implementation of the distribution of social assistance, because Makassar is already at PPKM level 2.

"Well, this will take a long time, so we decided to just return the funds to the state. We are calculating how much is left, because it's not only the price of the package but also other costs, such as transportation and shipping costs," said Assistant II of the Makassar City Government.
