Garuda's Case Regarding The Tweet Of Anonymous Accounts Still 'Gray'

JAKARTA - Vice President (VP) of Cabin Crew Garuda Indonesia, Roni Eka Mirsa, reported the owner of the anonymous account @digeeembok to the police regarding the alleged defamation. However, the case that is currently being handled by the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya has yet to find a bright spot.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that the transfer of the case was carried out because in the report the alleged article was the ITE law. Then, investigators are still investigating the anonymous account in order to look for a figure who uploaded sentences that smelled of accusations.

"The team from Crime Polda Metro Jaya is still investigating because of the ITE Law problem. This case was taken over by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Polda Metro Jaya," said Yusri in Jakarta, Monday, December 17.

However, Yusri did not explain in detail the progress since the case was handled by the Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit. In fact, when it was mentioned who the owner of the anonymous Twitter account was, it had not been clearly revealed.

Now, the police are investigating a case involving the high-ranking airline official with the red plate. Three witnesses have been questioned regarding this case.

"Until now, three witnesses have been questioned, the reporting witnesses by the Satreskrim of the Airport Police and fellow reporters," said Yusri.

Previously, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief AKBP Adi Ferdian Saputra confirmed this matter. According to him, in an effort to investigate the case, Friday, December 6, the report had already been taken.

In addition, the reporting of the social media account tweets is related to the criminal act of defamation. However, there was no detailed mention of the extent to which the investigation of the case was going.

"(Reporting) on suspicion of defamation. Later on, Article 27 paragraph 3 of the 2019 Law on ITE and 310, 311 KUHP will be subject to less than four years imprisonment," Adi said when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, December 12.

Meanwhile, on the previous occasion, the Head of Public Relations DivHumas Polri Kombes Asep Adi Saputra said that the investigation that has been ongoing to date is still about the search for whether or not there is any legal or criminal violation in the Twitter account.

Then, only then will it be decided whether the case will move up to the stage of investigation or if it is stopped. "Currently, investigations are underway to confirm the criminal acts committed by the account," said Asep.
