Bareskrim Reveals 4 Drug Cases, Tens Of Kg Of Shabu And Marijuana And Thousands Of Ecstasy Confiscated

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Unit foiled four cases of attempts to smuggle tens of kilograms of marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as thousands of ecstasy pills. This smuggling was revealed in Java and Sumatra.

"Of these four cases, we are still exploring whether there is a link in a network," said Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police, Brigadier General Krisno Siregar, to reporters on Monday, October 4.

The disclosure of the four cases with 44 kilograms of marijuana, 29 kilograms of Ssbu and 1,500 ecstasy pills as evidence was carried out from August 25 to September 28.

The disclosure began when officers received information from Customs about a narcotics transaction in the Ciputat area, South Tangerang.

In this case, three suspects have the initials ISP, T, and SR with evidence of 500 grams of methamphetamine, 200 pills of ecstasy.

"The controlling modus operandi is to use courier services to deliver narcotics," said Krisno.

After that, the second disclosure took place in the Utan Kayu area, Matraman, East Jakarta. In this disclosure, as many as 1,300 ecstasy pills were confiscated from a courier with the initials AS who is an online motorcycle taxi mode courier.

"Then the development of the origin of the evidence was carried out, the US suspect was only ordered by PCB to take the goods and wait for further orders. The field team tried to investigate the existence of PCBs, but these efforts were not successful and PCBs were used as DPOs," said Krisno.

Further disclosures related to the circulation of marijuana. There are seven suspects who are from the Bogor and West Sumatra networks.

The suspects included RU, RS, MR, RI, R, JP, and AR. In this disclosure, at least 47 kilograms of marijuana was seized.

From this disclosure, it was developed and arrested 5 suspects on 28 September. They are a network of shabu distribution from Aceh, Lampung and Banten.

"The arrest of suspect R with evidence in the form of methamphetamine in the car as much as 29 kilograms," said Krisno.

The investigation was developed until the team arrested other suspects namely WMP, NHF, E in Banten. A controlling figure with the initials HS was arrested in Aceh.

"According to the suspect's statement, the origin of the methamphetamine came from Malaysia," he said.

The suspect is charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a death penalty and a minimum of Rp. 1 billion and a maximum of Rp. 10 billion, subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
