Weekend Odds Still Valid In Bandung

BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) stated that the blocking of vehicles with the odd-even system in the City of Bandung was still in effect on the weekend of early October.

Mayor of Bandung Oded M Danial said that the odd-even number was still needed to prevent excessive public euphoria even though the COVID-19 case had started to slow down.

"This is in order for us to maintain the absence of euphoria, and maintain vigilance," said Oded in Bandung, West Java, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 1.

According to him, the city of Bandung will also expand relaxation for the tourism sector. However, the expansion of relaxation needs to be done with care so as not to cause excessive crowds.

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the odd-even system will remain with the same number of points as previously done.

The odd-even system points are carried out at five points, namely Pasteur, Pasirkoja, Kopo, Muhamad Toha, and Buahbatu toll gates.

In addition, the police also had time to impose odd-even for vehicles that lead to the tourist route in the Terminal Ledeng area.

"Odd-even is still at that point, there is no expansion, because it has been proven to reduce mobility," said Yana.
