10 Boys Who Fight In Tebet Arrested By Police, Worse All Bring Sharp Weapons

JAKARTA - 11 people were arrested by the Tebet Police due to a brawl in front of SD 07 Menteng Dalam on Saturday, September 25. What's worse, 10 of them are minors and they all carry sharp weapons.

"You can imagine that underage children are carrying machetes," said the Tebet Police Commissioner, Alexander Yurikho Hadi, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 1.

The brawl incident in which the perpetrators were dominated by minors clearly shocked Kompol Alexander. Moreover, all the children were fighting while carrying sharp weapons.

The Tebet Sector Police itself actually arrested a total of 14 people involved in brawls at two locations in the Tebet area, South Jakarta.

The brawler who is an adult with the initials ENP (26). This suspect is the one who incites underage children to join the brawl through the @mentengdalamofficial Instagram account.

A few days later, the police again arrested three youths who were involved in a brawl in Evidence Duri whose video went viral on Instagram some time ago.

"On Thursday, September 30, 2021, it was true that a brawl occurred at Bukit Duri at an incline. Maybe the video has gone viral. We have secured three people," said Alexander.

Alexander declined to elaborate further on the identity of the underage suspect. Alexander continued that the first 11 people who were arrested were teenagers who often challenged other groups of teenagers to fights through Instagram social media with the @mentengdalamofficial account.

"So, we took them into custody before a fight broke out when the team carried out cyber patrols. They activated their privacy mode when they wanted to challenge other groups," he said.

He said the 11 people often instigated other youth groups to fight in the Manggarai area.

In fact, said Alex, they use a certain code to notify when there is a police patrol in the area.

From the suspect's hands, the police secured 11 sharp weapons used to carry out the action. To the police, the suspects admitted to getting the sharp weapon from a fellow friend.
