Police Shoot Motorcycle Thief At North Sumatran Sergai School

MEDAN - Police shot two suspects in theft of motorbikes who often act in schools in Serdang Bedagai (Sergai) Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra). The shooting was carried out because the suspect resisted during the development of the investigation.

Sergai Police Chief AKBP Robin Simatupang said the identities of the two suspects respectively had the initials MR (18) and MA (22), both of whom were residents of the Medan Labuhan sub-district.

AKBP Robin said that the two suspects had been arrested after stealing two motorbikes at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Rampah, owned by students at the school, on Thursday, September 23.

The theft was caught on a CCTV camera which was later reported by the school to the police.

Based on the report, the police conducted an investigation and succeeded in securing the two suspects in Hamparan Perak District on Wednesday, September 29.

"Based on the results of the interrogation, the two perpetrators have stolen motorbikes four times, namely twice in the jurisdiction of the Sergai Police, once in the Tebingtinggi Police, and once in Berastagi," said AKBP Robin, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 30.

During the development of the search for evidence, the two perpetrators tried to escape by fighting against the officers.

"As a result, both of them were given measurable decisive action on the feet of each of the perpetrators. We have now secured both of them for further legal proceedings," said AKBP Robin.
