Jeteng Deputy Governor Gus Yasin Asks Regional Heads To Optimize Traditional Herbal Medicines

SEMARANG - Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimoen asked regional heads in 35 districts/cities to provide space for traditional medicine that utilizes various herbal plants.

"We encourage this again so that the knowledge passed down from our ancestors becomes more known to the wider community. We must not lose to Singapore, Malaysia, India, and other countries that also have traditional medicine traditions," said Taj Yasin in Semarang quoted Between, Thursday, September 30th.

Gus Yasin, the nickname of the Deputy Governor of Central Java, explained that from the tradition of using various Indonesian herbal plants as herbs or traditional medicines, there are not a few companies that process these medicinal plants into herbal products and traditional medicines that have penetrated the export market.

"It is hoped that this knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation can really be introduced to the public again, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic, where we consume too much medicine, why not support it with the plants that are around us to heal it?" vitamin C and other vitamins," he said.

According to the United Development Party politician, to increase the use of traditional medicine, education and assistance from the government is needed.

"There needs to be assistance from the Health Service and related agencies so that there are no mistakes or mistakes in the use of herbal medicines. Don't want to treat them instead of making them miserable, maybe because the dose is too high so it's the opposite, this needs assistance," he said.

The Central Java Provincial Government, continued Gus Yasin, the Central Java Provincial Government issued a policy in an effort to strengthen the traditional health service system.

Gus Yasin also hopes that conventional health service centers such as puskesmas and hospitals will also open complementary or integrated traditional health service units.

"No less important is the APBD support for strengthening complementary traditional health services," he said.
