JAKARTA - Pulogadung Police Chief AKP David Hutagalung is still investigating the perpetrators of the robbery of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) passengers in the Kayu Putih area, East Jakarta.

Currently, the police are still collecting a number of witnesses and CCTV footage at the crime scene (TKP).

"For now, we are still conducting an investigation, because this incident occurred at dawn. Not many witnesses saw it," said the Sector Police Chief to VOI, Thursday, September 30.

Even so, the Pulogadung Police are still working hard to collect evidence from CCTV to catch the perpetrators in the near future.

"Currently we are still checking several CCTV cameras from around the crime scene. There was one witness at the time of the incident, including the online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol)," he said.

Until now, the police have formed a joint team from the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Metro Jaya Police to arrest the perpetrators of the violent theft.

"We are still investigating the CCTV footage, because the problem is that the CCTV that we just got is part of the clarity of the image is not sharp. We are assisted by the Resort Police and the Regional Police to reveal who the perpetrators are," he said.

As previously reported, another sadistic mugging took place in the Kayu Putih area, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

As a result of this incident, the victim of an online motorcycle taxi passenger died after falling from the motorcycle she was riding.

It was later discovered that the victim was named Riski, from Aceh. The victim's head hit the pavement after falling from the motorcycle he was riding.

The victim died after several hours of treatment at the RSCM. While the motorcycle taxi driver suffered a broken left leg.

The case is still under investigation by the Pulogadung Police.

"It is true that there was a robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, September 26 at around 04.30 WIB. The mugging victim used an online motorcycle taxi from the Cipete area to Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta," he explained.

However, when the motorcycle riding the victim passed through the Kayu Putih area, it turned out that the perpetrators were following the victim. When the street was empty, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's belongings.

"The victim was followed by the unknown perpetrator, the perpetrator tried to take the victim's belongings. There was a tug-of-war, based on the online motorcycle taxi driver's statement that the victim wanted to keep his belongings," said the police chief.
