DKI DPRD Secretariat Says Viani Has Returned Recess Funds, Not In Accordance With PSI's Allegation About Dismissal

JAKARTA - PSI reportedly fired Viani Limardi from his party membership because it was deemed to have inflated the recess funds. However, Plt. Jakarta DPRD secretary Augustinus said DKI DPRD member Viani Limardi had returned the recess funds.

Based on the verification, Aga explained that during the recess in March 2021, Viani had no more extra recess funds that were still stored.

"The month of March has been completed. That means, Mrs. Viani returned it. However, in terms of nominal value, I have to check the administration first," said Aga when confirmed, Thursday, September 30.

Augustinus said that so far the DPRD Secretariat routinely checks reports on the expenditure of recess funds for each DPRD member. If there is more use of the budget, the funds will be requested back.

"The DPRD secretariat in the finance department will verify that the money we have given is 300 million for the recess. Later when the spj or receipt is less than 300 million, for example 250 million, we will ask for it," said Augustinus.

"This receipt is only Rp250 million. So there is an overpayment. Well, the Ro50 million is returned, we will deposit it into the regional treasury," he added. IDR 302 million for 16 recess points.

However, Viani denied it. He claimed that he had completed 16 recesses and returned the recess funds of around Rp. 70 million to the Secretariat of the DKI DPRD.

"Not only in March 2021, almost every time I have a recess, I return the rest of the unused recess budget. Please check with the DPRD and BPK. So where is the inflation?" he said.
