MEDAN - Police arrested the man who assaulted M Syawal Syah (53) at the Raudhatul Islam Mosque, West Medan District.

"The suspect MR has been arrested and detained. However, because he also reported to the Polrestabes, so he is currently at the Resort Police, information was taken by the Polres, but has been detained by the Police," said Acting West Medan Police Chief AKP Tina Pulitawati to reporters Tuesday, September 28.

AKP Tina said, from the results of the examination, it was known that the motive for this persecution was purely a personal matter.

"The problem between the victim and the suspect is purely a personal matter where the suspect mocks the victim who uses drugs while the victim mocks the suspect, the thief shouts the thief, resulting in the crime of persecution," he said.

In addition, the police confirmed that M Syawal was not a muezzin at the mosque.

"For Shawwal, it's not a muezzin, but ordinary people who live in Binjai. But the name is people who want to worship, do good deeds, if you want the call to prayer, go ahead," he explained.

Previously, the dispute took place at the Raudhatul Islam Mosque, Jalan Putri Hijau, Medan. This incident resulted in M Syawal Syah (53) suffering from knife wounds, almost breaking his ear.

In addition, MR alias Ramadona (34) of the congregation who had a dispute with Syawal also reported the victim to the Medan Polrestabes. He admitted that he was first attacked with broken glass by Syawal.
