JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Merves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan conveyed several messages regarding the alleged defamation case with reported Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidianti.

"I just want to remind you, we should never take refuge in human rights and freedom of expression which can injure people, that's all," Luhut told reporters on Monday, September 27.

In addition, said Luhut, the case involving him can also be a lesson for all parties. Where, all statements must have accountability.

So, in the clarification process, Luhut, who had been offered to resolve the case by means of restorative justice, did not mind it. As long as everything is done thoroughly and transparently.

"Yes, we will carry out this law, we will see later if there is, the investigators said there was a circular from the National Police Chief for mediation, so please go ahead," he said.

The desire to solve this problem so that his good name is not tainted with baseless accusations. In fact, Luhut is ready to prove it until the trial process.

"So I also don't want my children and grandchildren to feel that I am their parent, their grandfather committed fraud in Papua which I have never done. Let it be proven in court. Later if I am wrong, I will be punished, but if the person reporting it is wrong, he will be punished. We It's the same in the eyes of the law, I think this is important," said Luhut.

On the other hand, Luhut stated that he did not have any business in Papua. This statement answered the challenge of Haris Azhar's attorney, Nurkholis Hidayat, who had stated that he had data on Luhut's involvement in business in Papua.

"I don't have any business in Papua at all. Nothing at all, what else is it called mining," said Luhut

Even Luhut dared to prove it and challenged the reported parties to be open about the data. Because, he believes that he doesn't have a business as he is accused of.

"Please, just open it up in the media from now on," said Luhut.

In fact, Luhut emphasized that all his businesses and assets had been recorded neatly. Thus, it is certain that the statement from the reported party or its legal representative is slander.

"I have assets in the KPK, the LHKPN assets report," said Luhut.
