MEDAN - The muezzin at the Raudhatul Islam Mosque, Silalas Village, West Medan District, named M Syawal Syah is suspected of being persecuted by a congregation named M Romadona.

M Romadona, a congregation member of the mosque suspected of stabbing the muezzin explained the incident. According to him what he did was part of his defense.

"So we defend ourselves from his stab attack (Syawal). So whatever happened in his ear, just cause and effect," said Romadona when confirmed, Monday, September 27.

Romadona explained that the first attack was launched on him by Shawwal. He admitted that he was attacked by Shawwal using broken glass.

"He hit the broken glass, stabbed into my neck. I parried with my left hand, tore my elbow, there were about 18 stitches," said Romadona.

Next, Syawal was about to stab the broken glass into his neck. "I parried again with my hand, hit my chin until I got 4 stitches. He tried to attack again, hit my arm," he added.

He then went after Shawwal. Romadona then attacked Shawwal with a knife that was on the scene.

"Because my body was bleeding all over, I chased him inside. I could see that I had a cutter knife, so I just reflected, it hit her ear," he said.

Romadona said the commotion started after he told a story about a child using drugs. Shawwal objected and attacked Romadona.

"At first I had dinner at the mosque, after that I talked to a friend on the terrace of the mosque. Then I told a problem about my friend's son, the truth is that his son is not working because of the influence of drugs. From there he got angry and chased me with a glass, and threw me but he didn't. hit, and the shard was stabbed into my neck," he explained.

Because of this incident, Romadona made a report to the Resort Police. The report is numbered STTLP/1865/YAN.2.5/K/IX/2021/SPKT Restabes Medan.

When met by reporters, Syawal told the chronology of the incident. At first, after the Maghrib prayer, he and a colleague wanted to prepare dinner.

"As soon as we ate, Romadona slammed the plate next to me. Ustaz Fattah said, that's a personal sentiment, just let it go," he said, Friday, September 24.

Then the perpetrator, said Syawal, left the dining room. While out, the perpetrator issued a negative statement about himself.

"He said I wasn't that person, but I pretended to be in power. He kept mentioning my past about drugs. He said I was just a criminal, even though I was a criminal. My mode was there, he said he just wanted to cover up what I did selling drugs, I've been there for a long time. leave it after I got out of prison 2 years ago," he explained.

Provoked by the perpetrator's statement, Syawal then went to the perpetrator.

"I told him, it's the past, I want to repent, is there no chance to repent," he said.

Feeling disapproved of his words, the perpetrator then attacked by pushing Shawwal up to the wall of the mosque.

"But he didn't accept it and attacked me, pulled me, pushed against the wall, the glass I was holding fell and broke. A close friend with him held me until he couldn't do anything," he explained.

"I don't know where he came from, he was holding a knife, 3 times I was able to avoid it. The fourth hit my ear and I got 39 stitches," he continued.
