COVID-19 Update As Of September 26: More Recovered Cases Than New Positives

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 217,084 specimens as of September 26, there were 1,760 new positive confirmed cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,208,013," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, September 26.

Then, the recovered cases also increased. In fact, the number is greater than the positive cases of 2,976 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 4,023,777 people.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased to 86 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 141,467 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, namely, Central Java. 176 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 is East Java with 170 cases. Furthermore, DKI Jakarta with 168 positive cases, West Java with 157 cases, and Central Sulawesi with 106 cases.

On the other hand, the most recovered cases were found in North Sumatra Province with 379 cases.

The second position with the most recovered cases is West Java Province with 296 cases. Then, East Java Province with recorded 239 cases recovered, and Central Java as many as 186 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases in Jakarta is quite good when compared to other provinces. This is because 126 people have been declared cured of COVID-19. So far, 6 provinces have reported adding cases below 10. Among them, West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku, Gorontalo, Southeast Sulawesi, and Bengkulu. Meanwhile, none of the provinces reported no additional positive cases.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 38,076,424. In detail, as many as 25,074,863 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 235,587 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 12,765,974 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 1.31 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 380,082 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
