Thin Sumatran Tiger Viral At Medan Zoo, This Is BBKSDA's Explanation

MEDAN - Video footage showing a Sumatran tiger eating grass has gone viral on social media. In the video, the Sumatran tiger's body looks thin.

After being traced, the video was recorded at the Medan Zoo, Medan City. In the video narration explained, the image was recorded on September 11 by visitors.

"Please don't ignore the government, prioritize animal welfare," said the video narration.

Separately, the Head of Technical Division of the Center for Conservation and Natural Resources (BBKSDA) Irzal Azhar confirmed the video was at the Medan Zoo. According to the veterinarian at Medan Zoo, the tiger was sick.

"The condition of the tiger whose photo went viral last night is currently sick, due to indigestion and intestinal worms, according to the veterinarian at the Medan Zoo," said Irzal in his statement, Friday, September 24.

The tiger is currently undergoing treatment. The BBKSDA team has also gone down to check it.

"(Tigers) are being treated and treated by MZ. We have sent a team this morning to MZ, to check the conditions there, we are waiting for the team's results," he said.
