Kanye West Did Not Continue His Candidacy For US President

JAKARTA - Rapper Kanye West reportedly did not continue to run for president of the United States (US).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 10 days after the musician and clothing designer tweeted that he wanted to run for the 2020 presidential election, those efforts stalled.

"He's out," said Steve Kramer, who was hired to check West on the ballot by collecting signatures in the two states of Florida and South Carolina.

"I'll tell you what I know, after all our things are undone," he added.

However, West has not confirmed or denied the existence of the report.

West tweeted on July 4 that he would run for US president in November. This statement was questioned and ridiculed in an attempt to get attention for his fashion brand. But, telling Forbes a few days after the tweet surfaced, West confirmed it was serious.

Kim Kardashian's husband also said he had officially spoken to President Donald Trump. He also said he had been a staunch supporter of Trump for years.

The White House did not heed West to proceed to the next expected stage, as he had little time to collect signatures for submission to the Federal Election Commission.

"I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye," Kramer said.

"Everyone has a personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to really reflect on at that level," he added.

West has chosen Michelle Tidball as his running mate. West said his White House organizational model would be based on Marvel's fictional nation, Black Panther's Wakanda.

"I'm going to use the Wakanda framework now because this is the best explanation of what our design group at the White House will feel," West told Forbes some time ago.
