Police Arrest 5 Men Who Raped Teenagers In Banyuwangi

BANYUWANGI - Police arrested 5 men who raped a 15-year-old girl in Banyuwangi, East Java.

Those arrested were ZR (26), AS (18), HA (16), IF (19), and RW (15). While one other perpetrator is still being sought.

"While another suspect is still being sought (DPO)," said Wongsorejo Police Chief, Iptu Sudarso, Wednesday, September 22.

According to police, the victim was raped in a drunken state. Previously the victim was force-fed by the perpetrators.

This case began when the victim was picked up by one of the perpetrators, Monday 6 September. Apparently, the victim was taken to ZR's house and was waiting for another suspect.

"Before being raped, the victim was first given alcohol by the perpetrators. After being drunk, then the victim was raped in turns," said Iptu Sudarso.

The victim then woke up and reported the case to the police. The victim confessed to the police that she was raped in turns by the suspect.

"From the victim's statement, it was true that he had intercourse. So then he made a report on the disaster that befell his nephew," continued Iptu Sudarso.

From the report, the Wongsorejo Police Criminal Investigation Unit team then rushed to investigate. Five perpetrators were arrested.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 81 Paragraph 1 and Article 82 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection.
